An Analysis Of Problem Types
Charles Cooke
Abstract: Students need to be aware of the different types of patterns which are produced
From the attempt to solve problems of different types. An analysis of problems is
suggested, depending on the sequences which are produced in the solution of the
problem,. A similarity with the analysis of Order and Chaos by Davis and Hersch
(1981) is considered, and an example of a problem where more than one solution is
possible, is discussed.
