Abstract: The research paper reports on the evaluation of pupils’ competence in the Primary 4 and primary 6 Assessments. Items from each assessment were also analysed to determine if there are any co-relations between their competence and the types of questions for assessments. The test results from the reports had implications to the teaching of primary mathematics in Singapore.
