Teaching Of Calculus For Students’ Conceptual Understanding
Hari Prasad Koirala
Abstract: Mathematicians consider calculus to be the root of higher level mathematics
taught at university. Thus a last course in school or a fist course in university is
usually calculus. Students’ conceptual understanding of calculus, however,
remains an issue. Drawing on experiences in teaching for a conceptual
understanding of calculus, I argue that students can develop their conceptual
understanding of calculus by exploring graphs and functions and by developing
intuitive understanding of limit and continuity.
