How Does A Mathematician Do Research?

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to unfold the thinking processes which lie at the heart of mathematics research. The understanding of these processes which seem to come naturally to mathematicians would certainly shed useful light on how to encourage, develop and foster these thinking skills in school children as well as in adults.
