Research Session includes Research Papers, Symposia, Round Tables, Short Communications
Presentation Format
- Research Papers
A total of 40 minutes will be allocated for each research paper. At least 10 minutes
must be reserved for questions and comments from the audience.
- Research Symposia
A total of 90 minutes will be allocated for each symposium. A symposium consist
of no more than four presentations of about 15 minutes duration each, including
that of the discussant. At least 30 minutes will be reserved for questions and comments
from the audience.
- Short Communications
A total of 20 minutes will be allocated for each short communication. Presenters
will have about 15 minutes to present their work at the conference with at least
5 minutes for questions and comments from the audience.
- Posters
- Put your poster up at least 1/2 hour prior to the start of the poster sessions.
- Your poster must correspond to the title and content of the abstract you submitted.
- The poster should preferably be of A1 size (H=841 mm, W=594 mm) Orientation: Portrait,
with materials that can be mounted easily with double-sided tape.
- Plan your poster to be in logical sequence, i.e. introduction, study design and
methods, data collected, conclusion.
- Posters should be designed for clear viewing from a distance of beyond 3' so that
they can be viewed by a number of people at the same time.
- To ensure visual effectiveness of your poster, use large lettering and a minimum
of text.
- Use of colours can visually enhance your poster.
- Remove your poster immediately at the close of the poster sessions.
- Round Table Presentations
A total of 40 minutes will be allocated for each round table session. Sessions will
involve sitting around tables being set up in a large space with 8 – 10 chairs each.
Presenters will lead the discussion. Unlike formal paper presentation, the round
table is a forum in which a conversation takes place. Those attending will be free
to move around the room, joining conversations that are taking place at various
tables.
